Nextant Aerospace Donates Jet Turbine Engines To Purdue University Department Of Aviation Technology

• Nextant Aerospace gifts a pair of turbofan engines to Purdue University for its test cell research program

CLEVELAND, OHIO, April 8, 2014 – Nextant Aerospace (“Nextant”), maker of the Nextant 400XTi – the world’s only remanufactured business jet – and the forthcoming G90XT turboprop, today announced the company will gift two turbofan jet engines to Purdue University’s renowned Department of Aviation Technology. The gift marks the start of a larger collaboration with the University, whose professional flight program will be the first in the nation to operate the Nextant 400XTi.

Purdue University’s Department of Aviation Technology is widely recognized as a global leader in aviation education and research, with faculty who have extensive industry experience. The Department’s influence on the future trends in aerospace is enhanced by its top-of-the-line fleet of almost two dozen airplanes and several virtual training simulators.

“With Nextant’s generous gift, future pilots and engineers will have hands-on access to turbofan engines, which will be utilized in our test cell training research program,” said Michael Suckow, Assistant Department Head for Aviation Technology. “We are equally excited to take delivery of our first 400XTi. The aircraft is a great solution for the needs of the University. It gives us nonstop range anywhere in the country and does so at the lowest operating cost in its class.”

The engines will be presented to the Department’s faculty and students during a ceremony in the second week in April. During the ceremony Jay Heublein, Nextant Executive Vice President of Global Sales and Marketing, will speak on the latest advances in engines, avionics and Nextant’s revolutionary remanufacturing technology.
