Nextant Debuts At Dubai Airshow: Strong Regional Prospects For Enhanced Model Line-Up

  • Nextant expects strong demand from the Middle Eastern market
  • Middle Eastern debut for the 400XTi light jet which matches or outclasses comparable aircraft in range, speed and comfort with half the purchase price and lower operating costs
  • Forthcoming new G90XT turboprop follows same value formula and gets GE power for hot and high performance
  • The region holds strong Special Missions prospects for government and commercial operations

CLEVELAND, OHIO, November 14, 2013 – Nextant Aerospace (“Nextant”), maker of the Nextant 400XTi, the world’s only remanufactured business jet, today announced that it will participate in the 13th biennial Dubai Airshow taking place November 17-21, 2013. The company will have a VIP chalet (B17) and static display showcasing 400XTi aircraft, the GE H80 engine that will power the Nextant G90XT turboprop and its Spectrum Aeromed air ambulance equipment.

This will be the 400XTi’s first appearance at the Dubai Airshow. With a range of 2,003 nm (3,710 km) and the most comfortable cabin in its class, it can easily fly non-stop from Dubai to destinations such as Cairo, New Delhi, Athens or Tyumen.

Since its launch at EBACE this year there has been strong worldwide interest in the innovative 400XTi (“i” for “innovation”) which matches or outclasses the competition on key financial and performance metrics.

The cabin is by far the quietest in its class with a composite interior shell designed for improved head and shoulder room. Custom-finished by hand in the finest materials, its club four seating option provides maximum space to work or relax with WIFI, a 67 x 50 cm VIP table and extended leg room.

Also on display will be a model of the new GE H80 turboprop engine. In a strategic collaboration announced at the NBAA in October, GE will supply new engines for Nextant’s forthcoming range of remanufactured aircraft. Launch project is the Nextant G90XT, based on the King Air C90 series and featuring GE H80 engines. Like the 400XTi, the G90XT will transform concepts of value in its sector with significantly improved performance and lower costs at just half the purchase-price.

Key features of the G90XT center on the new power plant, Garmin 1000 avionics suite, single-lever power control, aerodynamic improvements and a quieter, upgraded cabin. The H80 engine weighs less than the PT-6 it replaces and incorporates the latest big-jet technology to reduce fuel and maintenance costs. Together, these enhancements will transform performance figures, including range, rate of climb and high-altitude cruise speeds especially in hot and high conditions.

Deliveries of the new model are less than a year away and with a global pool of potentially 1,500 suitable airframes the company anticipates a busy production run.

“With continuous growth in trade and GDP, Middle Eastern governments and business leaders are looking for more time-efficient and cost-effective travel options,” says Nextant President Sean McGeough. “The region also offers particularly strong prospects for Special Missions applications including air ambulance, freight, training, surveillance, high-density seating and cloud seeding.“

“The Nextant 400XTi has scored significant global success,” McGeough continues. “Our recent 50- aircraft fleet order from TMC validates our pioneering approach to value-based business aviation and means that more than 20% of the in-service 400A/XP fleet is committed to Nextant remanufacturing. Now we are applying remanufacturing technology to a line-up of new aircraft to give our customers a wider choice of products, all of them offering our trademark combination of exceptional performance and economy. The new G90XT – which we’re previewing at Dubai – is just the next step in our drive to give better value to owners and operators.”
