Nextant Debuts At Singapore Airshow With Enhanced Model Line-Up

  • Upbeat Nextant predicts strengthening demand from Asia-Pacific markets and names Nextant Pacific Pty Ltd as exclusive sales agent in the region
  • Positions commercially-proven 400XTi light jet to meet demand for range, speed, and comfort that matches or outclasses competition
  • Emphasizes purchase price half that of competitors with lower operating costs, high despatch reliability and full after-sales support
  • Previews next product – the GE-powered G90XT turboprop – predicted to repeat same strengths in value and class-leading performance

CLEVELAND, OHIO, February 7, 2014 – Nextant Aerospace (“Nextant”), maker of the Nextant 400XTi, the world’s only remanufactured business jet, today announced that it would participate in the Singapore Airshow taking place February 11–16, 2014. The company will display its revolutionary 400XTi light jet and showcase its upcoming G90XT turboprop, both of which match or outclass the performance and comfort of comparable new aircraft at half the purchase price. Nextant’s first exhibition at the Airshow marks a significant increase in the company’s sales and marketing focus on the Asia-Pacific markets.

The company is announcing the appointment of Nextant Pacific Pty Ltd (“Nextant Pacific”) as its exclusive agent for the APAC region. Nextant Pacific and its Sydney-based Managing Director John Oppenheim will play a key role in progressing with Nextant’s sales, marketing and customer service strategy in the Asia-Pacific markets. Before founding Nextant Pacific Mr. Oppenheim managed aircraft sales for Hawker Pacific and personally oversaw the sale of 128 aircraft in to the region over the past decade. Mr. Oppenheim is an Executive Committee Member of the ABAA and one of the most respected aerospace executives in the APAC region.

“We are honored to partner with Nextant in the APAC region”, said Mr. Oppenheim. “I cannot see another product in the marketplace that offers as compelling a value proposition as Nextant. After significant research into the local markets, we concluded that across both the turboprop and jet segments a remanufactured product that delivers the customer an ‘as new’ buying experience would be very attractive. Given this product also delivers superior levels of performance and significant capital and operating cost savings over its competitors, we believe it will be irresistible. We look forward to delivering our first Nextant aircraft and building on Nextant's already impressive success over the coming years".

Since its launch seven months ago the innovative 400XTi has re-written the value formula for light jets. The cabin is by far the quietest in its class with a composite interior shell designed for improved head and shoulder room. Custom-finished by hand in the finest materials, its club four seating option provides maximum space to work or relax with Wi-Fi, a 67 x 50 cm (26 x 20 in) VIP table and extended leg room. With a range of 2,003 nm (3,710 km) and the most comfortable cabin in its class, the 400XTi can easily fly non-stop from Singapore to destinations such as Bangalore, Chengdu or Taipei.

Nextant will also display designs and an engine mockup for its new G90XT turboprop. In a highly-significant strategic collaboration announced at the NBAA in October, General Electric will supply new engines for Nextant’s forthcoming range of remanufactured aircraft. The G90XT is the launch project, based on the King Air C90 series and featuring GE H80 engines. Key features of the G90XT center on the new power plant, a tailored Garmin 1000 avionics suite, single-lever power control, aerodynamic improvements and a quieter, upgraded cabin. The H80 engine weighs less than the PT-6 it replaces and incorporates the latest big-jet technology to reduce fuel and maintenance costs. Together, these enhancements will transform performance figures, including range, rate of climb and high-altitude cruise speeds especially in hot and high conditions.

Deliveries of the new model are less than a year away and with a global pool of potentially 1,500 suitable airframes the company anticipates a busy production run.

“The Singapore Airshow is Asia’s largest and one of the most important aerospace events in the world, and we’re proud to be a part of it,” said Jay Heublein, Nextant Executive Vice President for Global Sales and Marketing. “Today local governments and business leaders are looking for more time-efficient and cost-effective travel options and we’re offering them an ideal solution.”

“The Nextant 400XTi has scored significant global success,” continued Mr. Heublein. “Our 50-aircraft fleet order from TMC validates our pioneering approach to value-based business aviation. Now we are applying remanufacturing technology to a line-up of new aircraft to give our customers a wider choice of products, all of them offering our trademark combination of exceptional performance and economy. The new G90XT – which we’ll be previewing in Singapore – is just the next step in our drive to give better value to owners and operators.”

Both aircraft provide excellent platforms for Special Missions applications including air ambulance, freight, training, surveillance, and high-density seating. The predecessor aircraft have both seen commercial success with Special Missions applications in Asia and Nextant sees significant potential for their aircraft which can deliver superior performance at half the price.

Says Heublein: “Nextant’s remanufacturing process is now technologically and commercially proven in every major light jet operator category worldwide. The 400XTi’s performance and reliability are exceeding even our projections. We’re happy to say that our satisfied customers are our best advertisement.”
