Nextant Expands In APAC Region With First 400XTi Placed On Australian Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA) Register

  • The company has now delivered aircraft to eight countries demonstrating the global appeal of the Nextant remanufactured aircraft
  • The CASA-registered 400XTi is a quick-change Air Ambulance
  • APAC region has considerable potential for both VIP aircraft and Special Missions applications

SINGAPORE, February 13, 2014 – Nextant Aerospace (“Nextant”), maker of the Nextant 400XTi – the world’s only remanufactured business jet – and the forthcoming G90XT turboprop, today announced that it had placed the first 400XTi on the register of the Australian Government’s Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA). This is the eighth country where Nextant has based its aircraft, spanning five continents. The registration reflects the considerable potential the company sees from the Australian markets for both VIP and Special Missions aircraft applications.

The CASA-registered 400XTi is a quick-change Air Ambulance application which can be converted from VIP to Air Ambulance in less than 45 minutes. Nextant sees the APAC region as a key market for this Special Missions application. Later this year, the company expects to launch a dedicated 400XTi Air Ambulance with a high-utility ‘slick’ interior, maximizing cabin volume and mission flexibility.

“Australia has a proud tradition of aeromedical operations,” says John Oppenheim, Managing Director of Nextant Pacific Pty Ltd (“Nextant Pacific”), the exclusive agent for Nextant in the region. “Australia is home to some of the world’s largest and most comprehensive aeromedical organizations. With the 400XTi Air Ambulance applications and a launch of the G90XT Air Ambulance application expected later this year we are prepared to meet strong demand for these products in the region. Nextant aircraft deliver superior levels of performance and significant capital and operating cost savings over their competitors.”

“Nextant Pacific will play a key role in progressing with Nextant’s sales, marketing and customer service strategy in the APAC markets,” said Jay Heublein, Nextant Executive Vice President for Global Sales and Marketing. The 400XTi demonstrator will tour Australia and SE Asia following the Singapore Air Show (week of February 17) inviting local prospects to experience the aircraft firsthand.

The innovative 400XTi has re-written the value formula for light jets. The cabin is by far the quietest in its class with a composite interior shell designed for improved head and shoulder room. Custom-finished by hand in the finest materials, its club four seating option provides maximum space to work or relax with Wi-Fi, a 67 x 50 cm (26 x 20 in) VIP table and extended leg room. With a range of 2,003 nm (3,710 km) and the most comfortable cabin in its class, the 400XTi can easily fly non-stop from Sydney to destinations such as Cairns, Auckland and Nadi.

At the Singapore Airshow Nextant also displayed designs and an engine mockup for its new G90XT turboprop. In a highly significant strategic collaboration announced at the NBAA in October, General Electric will supply new engines for Nextant’s forthcoming range of remanufactured aircraft. The G90XT is the launch project, based on the King Air C90 series and featuring GE H75 engines.

Key features of the G90XT center on the new power plant, a tailored Garmin 1000 avionics suite, single-lever power control, aerodynamic improvements and a quieter, upgraded cabin. The H75 engine weighs less than the PT-6 it replaces and incorporates the latest big-jet technology to reduce fuel and maintenance costs. Together, these enhancements will transform performance figures, including range, rate of climb and high-altitude cruise speeds especially in hot and high conditions.

Deliveries of the new model are less than a year away and with a global pool of potentially 1,500 suitable airframes the company anticipates a busy production run.
